We've supported in browser emulation for a long time. However, our previous iterations were based on Java. Now that most browsers don't let you run Java applets (and for good reason..) we've decided to switch to different technologies (Flash, JS, etc.). I've just added the ability to also let you play your favorite DOS (Abandonware), SNES, GBA, and Genesis games directly in your browser! On the relevant game pages, you'll see a "Play in browser" link that should be easy enough to get started with :)

This means you don't have to download an emulator if your browser is fast enough. Of course, nothing beats native emulation on your PC so if this feature does not work well for you you can always download the game, an emulator, and be on your way.
